Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about QR code generation, bulk creation, and our Google Sheets add-on.

How do I generate QR codes in bulk using Google Sheets?

Install the Bulk QR Code Generator add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace. Open your Google Sheet with data, select the column containing URLs or text, click Extensions > Bulk QR Code Generator > Generate QR Codes. The add-on will create QR codes for each row and insert them into your sheet.

Are the QR codes generated free to use commercially?

Yes! All QR codes generated using our free tools are 100% free for commercial use with no attribution required. You can use them for business cards, marketing materials, product packaging, and any other commercial purpose.

What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

Static QR codes encode data directly and cannot be changed after creation. Dynamic QR codes point to a redirect URL that can be updated anytime. Our tools generate static QR codes, which are permanent and don't require ongoing subscriptions.

How many QR codes can I generate at once?

With the free version of our Google Sheets add-on, you can generate up to 50 QR codes per batch. The Pro version supports unlimited QR code generation with advanced features like logo embedding and custom styling.

What size should my QR code be for printing?

For reliable scanning, QR codes should be at least 2cm x 2cm (0.8 inches). For outdoor signage or scanning from a distance, use larger sizes. Our tools generate high-resolution images suitable for print at any size.

Can I add a logo to my QR code?

Yes! The Pro version of our Google Sheets add-on supports logo embedding in the center of QR codes. Logos can take up to 30% of the QR code area while maintaining scannability due to error correction.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes never expire. They encode data directly into the pattern and will work forever as long as the destination URL remains active. There are no subscriptions or ongoing fees required.

What data types can be encoded in a QR code?

QR codes can encode:

  • URLs and website links
  • Plain text
  • WiFi credentials
  • Contact information (vCard)
  • Calendar events
  • Phone numbers and SMS messages
  • Email addresses
  • Geographic coordinates
  • Cryptocurrency wallet addresses

How do I create a WiFi QR code for my business?

Is the Google Sheets add-on safe to use?
